This is a view of the East side of the house showing that my excavation guy did a wonderful job clearing out all the rocks and forms but leaving the cables for one final tension.
This cracking away of the cement happens when the forms are pulled and the cement sticks to the forms. It also is a result of the vibration did not get totally into the corner to mix the ingredients as they should have been.
This was after the cables were cut off at the slab after the second tensioning which was done at 10 days. Still no cracks anywhere in the slab. The rebar sticking out the end of the garage is to connect the driveway concrete to the slab.
This view is of the strange texture put on the back porch floor with salt which was pounded into the concrete...leaves little holes.
The insurance policy required these signs to warn people away.
This is a view of one of the cables that was cut then the hole was patched. If you look closely you can see the 5 or 6 individual cables that make up the twisted cable. Sometimes the cables actually pull out of the concrete and that is called a blowout. Big problem since then the concrete has to be patched and will be weakened. No blowouts for my slab....still no cracks!
