It was a big job to pull the mesh off but that wasn't my fault and it had to be corrected. They must have used 20 12-ft rolls.
Still some water in trenches but seemed to be drying out. Notice the 2x6 used as the top of the rock ledge.
I wasn't happy with the coverage of the plastic since not all the fill was covered. We discussed the need to make the coverage complete. Notice also the depth of the beam. It has to be more than the required 24 inches. Notice also the double cables that are in the beam for strength.
This was an interesting way that they put in the doorway from the garage to the back porch. It has to have a level threshold for the door but still make the water drain out of the garage and away from the house. The opening in the two boards is the 6-inch by 3.5-inch wall that runs around the garage wall. More later that will make this clearer.
These devices are "chairs" for the cables. The cable in the middle of the trench is dead-ended with the end visible. This allows a cable to be placed for extra strength without the need to extend to the outside.
This guy is the inspector from the foundation engineering company, CRI, checking to see if the cables are installed correctly and the beams are correct. He noted some changes and improvements to be done....like the plastic must cover all the fill. SURPRISE!
Several other items had to be corrected that I caught which was
1. Width of the garage opening was two feet too wide,
2. Width of the little wall around the garage was 9.5 inches and should have been 6 inches
3. Back double french doors were placed wrong--had to be moved almost 15 inches, All issues were corrected and we were ready to get going on Wednesday with the pour.....
