More Problems

It is now Sunday, Jan 08, 2012 and the site was suppose to be ready for inspection tomorrow.  The guys on the plumbing and foundation crews did work on fixing things late on Saturday afternoon.  The plumbing is fixed and the wire mesh is on.....

WHAT?

THERE ISN'T SUPPOSE TO BE ANY WIRE MESH!

I had to get out the contract to make sure we did not agree on putting wire mesh down since we did at one point think it would be a good idea and it was extra cost as well.  The contract only discusses wire mesh for the flatwork or sidewalks yet to be specified--only reinforcement rods and tension cables for the foundation slab.

And what are those bare spots.  All the fill was to be covered with 6 mil plastic.  That is very important to keep the water from migrating from the ground into the concrete and into the house floor.

There are many bare spots.  Even worse, there is an 80% chance of rain this evening and 50% chance for Monday and 30% chance on Tuesday....AAAAUUUUGGFGGHHH!

Even without more rain it looks like some of the sides are collapsing anyway.  These blue lines are actually tensioning cables that are to retard the cracking of the concrete as it drys.  The wire mesh will counteract the tensioning of the cables and won't allow the concrete to pull together as it dries and will--matter of fact--cause cracks.

I noticed also, that not all the boards are in place for the rock ledge of 5.5 inches.  So the foundation guys have work to do.

Some good news.  The Chisholm Water District dug the holes for the two 45 foot poles so unless they fill with water on Monday, maybe I will have electricity in the near future.

This is the one near the corner at the front of the property.  The lines will tie to the pole directly across the 5 lane highway.

WE'LL WORK IT OUT.
