Two steps Forward, one step back

We are making some progress.  This was on Thursday, January 5, 2012.  the trenches are dug, more fill was brought in to fill out the garage and plastic was layed over the fill.  Notice that the plastic is also extended over the top of the forms.  This was so the plastic could be pulled up over the stone ledge and taped to the ZIP-R if we wanted to for more vapor barrier.

Looks good, doesn't it.  You can even see the blue line which is running across the plastic for the rain water to come in from the tank to the water treatment.  But, something just doesn't look right.

This is a test.  Do you notice anything strange?

I don't believe the toilet exhaust is suppose to be at this angle.  It seems the trencher and workmen for the foundation managed to break the pipe--4 inch pipe is pretty strong so I can't imagine what they were doing.  Also, there was another 3-inch pipe that was broken in the Pantry.  The plumbers will return on Friday to fix the problems and check to see that no dirt got into the lines and run the pressure tests again.

This is the cleanout on the East side of the house for the Black water.  Notice, like the North side, the pipe is encased in a sleeve and filled with spray foam.  I wonder how much that spray foam will repel fire ants or attract them?  There must be something else that is done once the concrete is in and forms removed.

I found this interested to show the trench that runs along the back of the house which is the North side.  The black box is for the drain for the shower and the other pipes sticking up are for a vent and the kitchen sink/dishwasher.  The extension is the back porch which is also covered.  Building up lots of garbage around the house and I guess I should clean it up but not quite sure what to keep and what to throw away.  Plenty of time for that.

These two guys are Fred, supervisor for Built Green Custom Homes, and Brad, supervisor for Landreth Construction who is doing the foundation work.  I think Fred is chewing out the plumber and Brad is having a discussion with his crew on the broken pipes.

This is Paul Landreth.  Owner of Landreth Construction.  I think he is talking to his boss, his wife.

JUST KIDDING!

We are scheduled to pour on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 --- Ronda, my daughter's birthday.  It is also predicted to rain so we will see how it goes.
