September 2012- Wood Stove +

Several other issues were taken care off during the first two weeks of September.

The installers who did the tile in around the tubs and in the shower came back to fix some small issues with the grout and caulking as well as install the grab bars.  I had previously taken pictures of the framing (my consultants' idea) so we could see exactly where the supports for the bars were.  If I had it to do again, I would put the exact measurements written on the braces so there would be less chance of missing them instead of just looking at pictures.

The good news is my tank RUNNETH OVER!!!  A recent rain filled up the entire 20,000 gallon tank.  The second blue tape marker was the level before the latest rain and the red bobber is the water level indicator at the current time.  The water is at the level of the overflow.  It rained some more over the 15 th weekend and all of the water ran out the overflow.

I also added the ceiling medallion to the popup ceiling that will be over the dining table.  The stick is a support till the liquid nails adhesive dries.  Looks good against the same blue as the Master Bedroom.  A light fixture will go in the middle of the hole.

Delivery of LOPI Wood Stove.  I had purchased this stove over two years ago and it had been in storage at Georgetown Fireplace and Supply.  Steve Smith of Smith's Chimney Sweeps did the first install of the pipe through the metal roof.  He is back to do the final install of the stove and pipe.

The stove weights about 450 lbs and the pipe to connect to the roof is about 14 ft.

You can also see the preparations I did for the mantle by adding the cleat on the rock wall where the mantle will be installed.  I am still putting the final finish on the mantle.

The pipe was attached by pushing it up through the pre-installed box and screwing in three metal screws.

Then the guys had to lift the stove onto the hearth.

They set the stove in the right position with the levels visible on the pipe.  The openings below the stove are for storage of kindling and firewood.

Just beautiful.  I think it is going to run me out of the house with the heat it will generate.

Couldn't resist sharing a beautiful sunrise in Georgetown, TX
