Tuesday, March 13, 2012 Stove Pipe, Painting, Electrical

I thought Monday was busy but Tuesday was WILD!   I had painters doing caulking and electricians doing rough in.  These two guys are with Smith Chimney Sweeps.  Bill and Jordan are installing the pipe that goes through the roof of the Great Room and on through the ZIP roofing.  They are about 18 feet above a concrete floor.  They dropped several items such as drills and large tape measures.  I was very glad the floor had the padding put down by the polishing guys.  It took Bill and Jordan about 5 hours to put in the black box that goes through the ceiling and the pipe above and flashing on the roof.

Notice Jordan does not have any safety rope on.

Very busy place...almost had to give out parking permits.  In addition to the Stove Pipe installers and the painters, the electricians were also on site plus a couple of supervisors like me.  All in all about 11 people kind of getting in each others way but they still were able to get a lot completed.

At one time both the Stove Pipe installers were on the roof.

This was the second day for the painters.  Do you see much work going on?  They came late, left for a long lunch break then left early.  The guy in shorts is Agustine, the owner of the Rojas Painting Co.

More talking than caulking and no painting.  The boss eventually sat down in the chair on the porch and just hung around talking to the crew.  They did not complete the caulking on Tuesday (second day)

Stove Pipe Install was completed and the electrical work will need to continue on another day even though they stayed until almost dark trying to get as much done as possible.  The Electrical Company is Bradford Electric out of San Marcos with Jessie as Supervisor and Chris as Project Manager.  All very competent and knowledgeable electricians. It is a joy to work with them as well as Bill and Jordan.
